June 1 marked the first day on the job for Dr. Tom Noseworthy, BC AHSN’s inaugural CEO. See the appointment notice in the Globe & Mail.
In recent remarks, Dr. Noseworthy expressed a clear vision for BC AHSN: “The Academic Health Science Network will be the engine of the learning health system in British Columbia,” he said.
“To accomplish this, among other things, we need to have two foundations to our work. The first is to support others in research and knowledge management. The second is a suite of provincially-scaled initiatives based on sound evidence and measurement, and focused on improving health and clinical outcomes, and value for money in the health system. We also need to work with other provinces that are attempting to do the same thing.”
“Over the summer, I’ll be consulting widely across the province and working together with our partners, patients and collaborators on initiatives that are in alignment with provincial priorities.”
